Bunbury Men of Song (BMOS) is an Adult Male community choir based in the South West of Western Australia. Starting in 1998 BMOS has been performing all around WA, interstate and most recently internationally, spreading the joy of music to its audiences. Joining the choir in 2010 current Musical Director Ian Mills has brought the choir from strength to strength performing both nationally and internationally. Also joining in 2010 Accompanist Greg Ross has been the driving force behind the Male Voice Festival bringing it to a national level. With their second Male Voice Festival being held in September 2018 the choir has been growing their national profile.
Our repertoire includes songs from shows and musicals, classics, gospel and rock and roll. We are also very proud of our growing number of Australian Compositions, which we have purchased and commissioned and give us an authentic Australian voice.
BMOS strives to increase their national and international presence with multiple interstate tours, and an extensive 2016 European tour. In 2017 BMOS attended the Pemulwuy National Male Voice Festival for the third time, taking 29 members the choir participated in the massed choir and also performed in two show case concerts.
Our members come from almost every walk of life. We have students, those seeking work, labourers and trades people, professionals, retired persons and more. Some were born in Australia, others have come to make their home here from various places around the world. Our members comment on the ready welcome that they are given, the friendship they are offered and the genuine care and support they find as members of Bunbury Men of Song.
