In 2017 Choralfest® was held from 30 June to 3 July at the beautiful and historic Brisbane Grammar School, minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
Keynote Speakers for 2017 were Elise Bradley, Artistic Director of the Toronto Children’s Chorus, and André J Thomas, Professor of Choral Music at Florida State University.
Key Australian Presenters also inspired with their skills encompassing conducting, composing, arranging, publishing, teaching, lecturing, vocal health and music technology. For a downloadable information sheet on the presenters, please see below.
There was also a Conducting Masterclass with André J Thomas, and both Keynote Speakers were involved in preparing and leading some of the Festival Choirs who performed at the Concerts.
Choralfest 2017 was a showcase for the amazing talent that are Choral Singers and Performances. See below for a pdf file that you can download on the choirs.
Attendees also had a chance to participate in plenary and elective Sessions, choral concerts and Lab Choir demonstrations over the three days, with major themes of Innovation and Excellence in choral music. For more details on the sessions and on the program, download the file below.
Choralfest 2017 was an amazing and unique event, having the Pemulwuy and Choral Fringe Festivals happening around the same time in Brisbane. Some choirs who performed at Choralfest also took part in Pemulwuy and the Choral Fringe.
