Euphony is the auditioned girls’ choir from Kristin School in Auckland, New Zealand, and has been in existence for almost two decades. In 2013 the choir undertook a tour of the UK, which included representing New Zealand at the International Music Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, where the choir was placed third in the open female choir category – the only school choir competing in this section. The tour concluded with a well-received performance at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The choir has won numerous awards at the New Zealand Choral Federation Big Sing Festival, including being named best female choir in the Auckland region for four consecutive years. At the 2016 Big Sing Finale, the choir won a gold award, as well as the Auahi Kore Award for the best performance of a work using Māori text, and the Hutt City Trophy for the best performance of a New Zealand work.
Euphony is accompanied by Gracie Francis, who is also the assistant music director of the Auckland Youth Choir, and conducted by David Squire, music director of the New Zealand Youth Choir.
